Why reserve your trench coat for the worst of days? Just like a luxurious and well invested fur, one should not be waiting for gray skies and bad weather to display your style. As seen with Jean Paul Gaultier and Burberry, it's quite difficult for the right trench to go out of style. With designers frequently revamping the classic investment piece, can we ever remember the last time a trench out was unfashionable? Now that Spring has come and a new sense of dressing hits the air, this season's new trench will surly not just be the doubty item that weighs down your ensemble.
The need for refreshing and eye pleasing pieces are needed now more than ever. Which seems to be a key reason why designers are focusing on a younger audience, or at least those with the "young at heart" mindset. After the trench coat was developed as an alternative to the heavy serge greatcoats worn during the first World War, fast-forward about 100 years and today's trench coat clientele consist of some of the chicest women known to those with a true sense of style. Freelance writer and part time stylist Erika of
Fashion Chalet, has seemingly grasped the concept of the new found femininity in a trench. Pairing her
Marc by Marc Jacobs trench with a printed
Puella at Nine West mini dress and
Richard Tyler opened-toe pumps, Erika's look is not only inspirational but romantic and quite affordable. All of which appear to be things to be taken into consideration in today’s times.
How To Wear This Season's Trench:
Styled and dressed to kill, the latest the on the trench is anything but hard-edged. For the lighter and freer months, style within the time should be reflected that way to one's liking. When taking a try at the trench keeping accessories to a slight minimum is important. Pairing the usually neutral colored coat with a show-stopping black heel and winning black clutch will make for the romance much need in times of frustration.
