Trends That Stay - What's Old Becomes New

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Do you sometimes find it hard to give up a good trend? While some leave you to question why they came about in the first place and others exist only to those daring enough to try, some trends are able to withstand the test of time. As the latest spring shows went on with what seemed to be no problems in ecconomic problems sight, little hint of the hard-hitting recession to hit the ashion industry was barley present. So were designers dropping off little hinting towards not let go of past items, in an effort to save money? Whatear the matter may be, little subliminal messages of not letting some of past spring’s most coveted items go, seemingly made their way around the Spring 2009 runways.

In 2008, Yves Saint Laurent's catastrophic star heels drove us wild and became the most desired shoe of the season. Today, Gianfranco Ferré's towering sandals take the place of Stefano Plietali's mouthwatering monumental shoe. Safari nudes and prints straight from Africa's most elite tribes, now becomes Frida Giannini's adventurous Gucci girl and John Galliano's Amazon wonders at Dior. Prada's dream worthy hand painted pajama pieces and Ann Demeulemeester's billowing stripped sleepwear, transform in to Dolce & Gabbana's spotted/striped sets that are too chic to be slept in.

I'm not neccessarily the biggest fan of the print on strapless top, but having a bow as top is always so gorgeous and gives it a little extra something. And the bag in the left top picture is hot! Curious for a close up of that one.

x!

There are only so many ideas out there in the universe! One is bound to bounce into someone else's previous designs, even if they didnt intend to :)
